Setting the Agenda
Social Agenda:i. The role of traditional rulers in community mobilisation, security and development.
ii. Community enlightenment and education on environmental issues protection and climate change.
Political Agenda: i, Promotion of good governance: addressing corruption, prioritising due process, constitutionalism, rule of law, transparency and accountability in the conduct of public affairs.
Politics: re-inventing of the political landscape, true federalism, promoting civil rights and liberties. State Structure and Local Government Structure: State creation is to bring development closer to the grassroots. Organs of Government/Proliferation of Political Offices: reducing the cost of governance at all levels.
Peace and Security: terrorism, kidnapping, arm robbery, smuggling, proliferation of small arms and light weapons, trafficking in persons etc. public enlightenment and increase vigilance. The role of the state in the protection of life and security, role of Security forces in promoting public safety and law enforcement.
Political Awareness: Sensitization on Citizenship, Civic Rights and Responsibilities. Promoting free and fair elections: deemphasising monetisation of politics. Popular participation of citizens in governance.
3. Economic Agenda:
Education: An integrated review of the nation’s educational policy with a view to harmonizing capacity and resources with cross sectoral exigencies and demands.
Research and Development: the contemporary international system is knowledge driven, knowledge based on extensive and well-grounded research. Collaboration between national and international agencies: This is critical to the empowerment of both women and youths and to promote their ability to secure decent jobs, accumulate and invest.
Institutional Representation: Ensure institutional representation, access and influence and through that, actualise the engendering of public policies which target economic growth and development and Women’s right to land, capital investment and loans.
Education: A national educational state of emergency must be declared as a matter of critical national imperative.
